"My learning experience at COLLABORATE 10 was great...I wanted to learn about OBIEE in general -- and I did. I wanted to learn about the component parts to OBIEE -- and I did. I wanted to learn how to enhance and improve my existing Data Warehouse -- and I did. I wanted to learn how I might more efficiently access data in Oracle E-Business Suite -- and I did (NoetixViews). I learned a ton, and I was able to meet industry professionals and experts, too....I look forward to the next event."

Better Together: Exadata with Analytics and Business Intelligence
Wednesday, April 13, 10:30am
What makes Oracle’s “red stack” so good for DW, BI and Analytics? Have you had to explain to line of business managers who want to better leverage their data and want to “Compete on Analytics” how IT can help? Have you ever needed more than 'speeds and feeds' value proposition to convince business users of the value of an Exadata data warehouse?
Have you ever wondered how to describe to your technically-oriented customers that BI EE works better than Cognos or Business Objects on Exadata? Oracle has embarked on a decade’s long strategy to move the algorithms to the data vs. exporting the data to external servers for analysis and business intelligence. Now, with Exadata, all the years of technology investment comes together in a fusion of technologies making the Oracle Database the best platform for DW, BI and Analytics—and for developing next-generation Applications that best leverage these capabilities.
This presentation discusses what makes Oracle Exadata Database, in-Database Analytics and Oracle Business Intellligence (OBIEE) the best data management, data warehousing, data analysis and business intelligence platform available today—and tomorrow.
This presentation will:
- Discuss the decades long evolution and advancement of the entire Oracle DW, Analytics and Business Intelligence “red stack”
- Present key features that differentiate Oracle’s market leading solution
Mark Townsend has been with Oracle since 1989, and has worked with customers and partners in three major geographies. He currently works with Oracle's Server Technology Division, as the Vice President of Product Management, reporting to the head of Database Development, and is directly responsible for the ongoing R&D planning of future releases, and the co-ordination of the product release process for the database across Oracle. He also manages a global database evangelist program, with a team of database experts that are available for customer presentations, technical insights, and proof-of-concepts and benchmarks. Mark regularly talks to partners, customers and analysts, to better understand new technology and how it can be successfully applied to existing and emerging data processing requirements.

Oracle BI and EPM: Overview of Strategic Direction
Tuesday, April 12, 10:30am - 11:30 am
In this session Balaji Yelamanchili, the new Oracle SVP of Development for BI/EPM, will articulate the long range vision of the EPM, BI Apps and BI Tech product lines at Oracle. He will begin by highlighting the strategic products in each product line that will attract the most R&D investments in the coming years and proceed to trace the steady progress of the integration of the BI and EPM product lines over the past 3 years. Balaji will then call out the core themes that will guide the strategic direction of each product line over a multi-year, multi-release horizon. In doing so he will discuss both the planned evolution of existing product line capabilities as well as several brand new areas of innovation such as exploiting recent advances in in-memory technology for greater system performance and speed-of-thought visualization, inline predictive modeling and analysis within the BI Apps, and plans for providing the full power of Oracle’s BI capabilities on a broad array of mobile devices.
Balaji Yelamanchili currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management Products, at Oracle. In this capacity, Balaji has overall responsibility for Oracle’s business analytics and performance management strategy, product management, product development, and product GTM functions.
